Hi there Angelenos:
Many of us knew and loved Cliff Kaminsky, whose 34th birthday was yesterday, July 23. Cliff is very much with us in spirit though we lost his sweet presence a couple of years ago to a rock-climbing accident. I hear often from his mother, who has taken up the baton and now devotes herself almost full time to animal rights work. Indeed, Cliff was an extraordinarily giving and energetic activist who left a beautiful legacy.
One of the many projects Cliff handled was the coordination of Los Angeles's Farm Sanctuary annual walk for the animals. This year, Farm Sanctuary is so far without a Los Angeles coordinator. In Cliff's honor I send this alert out to my Los Angeles list hoping one of you will step up and take on this beautiful and fun project.
Here is the Farm Sanctuary request:

2007 Walk for Farm Animals
Needs YOU!
Join with Farm Sanctuary this fall to educate people in your community about factory farming by coordinating a Walk for Farm Animals.
The Walk for Farm Animals is a critical outreach and fundraising event that presents a fun and positive way to get active for farm animals. Dozens of Walks are held throughout the country around the week of Oct. 2 in honor of World Farm Animals Day. Educating the public through this national event puts farm animal issues in the spotlight and raises funds for farm animal rescue and protection campaigns. Each new Walk means more farm animals saved.
We are in need of a coordinator for the Los Angeles area. Help us show the country how much LA cares about farm animals. If you are able to organize the LA Walk or would like more information, please email walk@farmsanctuary.org or call 607-583-2225 ext. 283 or visit www.walkforfarmanimals.org.
