This morning I did the tough stuff -- now I get to do the fun stuff. Those of you who are interested in pop culture and also in animals and the environment need to know about the fabulous Ecorazzi site! This week, because Thanking the Monkey is so colorful and celebrity laden, Ecorazzi published an interview with me. It is on the site at:

OR here is the Tiny URL for it:

Here's the introduction:
"A few months ago a good friend told me about this funky new book called Thanking The Monkey by Karen Dawn that 'I just have to read.' Now even though Im a loudmouth vegan who preaches the gospel to tens of thousands each day, in real life I hardly have ANY vegetarian friends. So you can imagine how impressed I was that a book which reexamines the way we treat animals had managed to catch the attention of my omnivore compadre. Long story short: I bought the book and by page 30 Id contacted Karen to set up an interview.
"Besides being endorsed by just about every heavyweight vegetarian celebrity out there, Karen Dawn has most recently received praise from the Washington Post and NBC. As the founder of DawnWatch, Karen was given the Farm Sanctuarys 2008 Outstanding Activist for Farm Animals Award. Dawn recently sat down with Ecorazzi for an exclusive interview and shared with us a BRAND NEW star-studded promo video. Enjoy!"
The interview is fun, and then, indeed, there is a link to the new promo video. I know a lot of you watched the original we released before the book came out. This one starts the same way, but don't be fooled by that. Thanks to the fun book parties and other events we have since added CSI star Jorja Fox, Daryl Hannah, Transformers 2 star Isabel Lucas, Heather Mills, NYPD Blue star Esai Morales, John Schneider from The Dukes of Hazzard and Smallville, and Hal Sparks from Queer as Folk and Talk Soup. And we still have all the original favorites: Daniela Sea from The L Word, Alicia Silverstone, John from Cincinnati's Bruce Greenwood (who will be Captain Pike in the new Star Trek) Emily Deschanel of Bones, Persia White from Girlfriends, Alexandra Paul from Baywatch, cartoonist Dan Piraro, Bob Zmuda who is the founder of Comic Relief, Supermodel Roshumba Williams, Deborah Wilson Skelton from MAD TV, and MTV Real World's Coral Smith.
At the end of the interview there is a spot to post a comment. If you feel like writing something nice, of course I will be pleased -- and it will be great if Ecorazzi sees a real interest in animal themes.
Finally, the new promo video is also on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-O3axbi2G-E
If you are up for grabbing it and spreading the word, that would be wonderful.
At our new YouTube channel you can see it and many others, such as those from the New York book launch party --- the montage and the individual interviews. Go to

Those videos and many more -- plus lots of fun photos and new reviews and media stories and endorsements are also at www.ThankingtheMonkey.com/media
I hope you enjoy!
