If you are looking for an excuse for a post summer trip to Beverly Hills -- or even if you weren't -- we've got a great one for you. The Farm Sanctuary Gala is at the classic Beverly Hills Hotel on Saturday, September 8. Farm Sanctuary galas are always warm and welcoming events, with plenty of glamour to spice things up. This year, Farm Sanctuary have outdone themselves with their special guest list -- particularly for the shameless TV fans amongst us. The star of your favorite show is probably coming! Check out the list below, and keep checking back at the on line invitation website as more folks are being added all the time. Go to http://farmsanctuary.org/gala/2007/ where you'll find photos of the special guests. While we all know the names Alicia Silverstone and Forest Whitaker, sometimes we might know the faces but not the names of some of our favorite actors from House, Veronica Mars, Ally McBeal, Girlfriends, Dallas or Baywatch, who we will enjoy seeing at the event and
hearing say heartwarming things about their concern for animals.
Farm Sanctuary says, "Join us for a magical night at the famed Beverly Hills Hotel as we celebrate 21 years of rescuing and protecting farm animals at our black-tie Gala for Farm Animals. This inspiring evening will bring celebrity supporters, key legislators and animal advocates together to honor farm animals and promote compassion. "
The Gala Host is the lovely Emily Deschanel, star of the hit series Bones. Honorary Chairs are
Ellen DeGeneres, David Duchovny, and Forest and True Whitaker.
Here is the confirmed special guest list:
Jon Anderson, Ed Begley, Jr., Kristen Bell, David Boreanaz, Lisa Edelstein, Greg Germann, Swoosie Kurtz, Ali Landry, Radha Mitchell, Shelley Morrison, Alexandra Paul, Laban Pheidias, Dan Piraro, Anita Pointer, Stefanie Powers, Victoria Principal, Daniela Sea, Alicia Silverstone, Maggie Q, Joan van Ark, Amber Valletta, Persia White, Fred Willard, Roshumba Williams, Debra Wilson Skelton, Travis Barker and Jennifer Coolidge.
And, many more to be announced!
If Hollywood actors and celebs -- even those with huge hearts -- don't interest you at all, come for the "unique seitan Wellington" or more importantly, the Flourless Chocolate Torte with Dark Chocolate Ganash & Raspberry Coulis or the Coconut Crème Brulee. Check out the scrumptious sounding four-course menu here: http://farmsanctuary.org/gala/2007/menu.htm
And come to be in a room with hundreds of like minded people gathered to help give the animals a voice.
Also, look at the online invitation for the program of award presentations to legislators and activists, guest speakers and special performances, for a list of the planning committee (which I am honored to be included in) and for photos of past galas.
The invitation mentions the basic ticket cost of $200 and says, "To purchase your tickets, to make a donation, or for more information about the event, including product donations, sponsorship and advertising opportunities, and auction contributions to support the event, please contact: 607-583-2225 ext.221 ~ gala@farmsanctuary.org "
But there are all sorts of sponsorship opportunities that come with VIP seating and other perks. Learn more at http://www.farmsanctuary.org/gala/2007/sponsorship.htm
And please, even if you can't be with us on September 8 (though we hope you can!) do consider making a donation to support Farm Sanctuary' s wonderful work. Farm Sanctuary tells us, "Your support will help fund our coast-to-coast rescue and advocacy efforts to end factory farming abuses and provide safe refuge for farm animals in need."
