Date: August 8th, 2007

National Public Radio's Morning Edition, Wednesday, August 8, 2007, aired a piece by commentator Frank Deford on dog fighting and on various forms of hunting, such as "canned hunting" where hunters shoot animals who are trapped behind fences on ranches. He notes that "in the animal-cruelty business" Michael Vick shares company with many others.

Please go to http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=12568999 and listen to or read his brief commentary. And please send a thank you! It is vital that media people who speak up for the animals get loads of positive feedback. Frank Deford's "Sweetness and Light" column takes comments at http://www.npr.org/templates/contact/index.php?columnId=4499275

My thanks to Connie Chambers and Karen Golab for making sure we saw or heard Deford's commentary.

Yours and the animals',
Karen Dawn
