Those of you who have been on DawnWatch for at least a few months have already read my raves about PETA vice president Dan Mathews's book "Committed: A Rabble-Rouser's Memoir." It is laugh out loud funny, but also important, has a good splash of trash, without being trash. It delivers some animal rights messages, wrapped in a package of outrageous fun. As Mary Matalin said when she and James Carville decided to throw Mathews a book party: "Good man, good cause, good book. Let's party!"
Dan starts his summer book tour tomorrow, Tuesday July 24 . I was lucky enough to be at one of his readings in Virginia and can recommend grabbing some friends and venturing to the book store to see him for a fun night out. Dan is fantastically charming -- you will have a good time. And one way to encourage animal friendly media is to buy animal friendly books!
